Three Holiday Crafts for all Ages

Share:

Holiday crafts are a great way to spend quality time together as a family and create fun and festive decorations and projects. Spruce up your Burlington apartment with some new seasonal décor, just in time to host friends and family for holiday parties.

Hand Print Christmas Tree
This fun and easy DIY handprint Christmas tree is a great way to get the whole family involved and literally personalize your family tree. For this project you will need a blank canvas, some (non-toxic) acrylic paint, foam brushes, and eager hands. Start by drawing the brown tree stump on the canvas and then fill out the tree with different handprints. Repeat until you have a tree shaped pattern for a beautiful one-of-a-kind Christmas painting. For the full tutorial and other great DIY projects, check out ‘Growing up Goofy’s’ blog hereMichaels craft store is the perfect place for all of your DIY project needs, and is less than 2 kilometres away from our Barkley Towers apartments in Burlington.

Easy Holiday Treat Jar
This easy holiday treat jar by ‘Busy Bee Kids Crafts’ is a great all-ages activity that makes for a wonderful holiday gift. It is a perfect little gift for teachers, party hosts, and anyone else who deserves a little holiday pick-me-up. This craft is also very affordable to make, and only costs about $1 per jar. Simply layer your favourite snacks in the pattern you desire inside of a Mason jar. Once you are finished, tie a piece of ribbon around the lid, decorate as you like, and secure. Some ideas for your jar filling include holiday M&M’s, trail mix, dried fruit, chocolate chips, etc. For endless treat options, head on out to Bulk Barn, located 10 minutes away from our community at 955 Warwick Avenue.

Stick Figure Ornaments
Turn up the holiday music and have some fun with an afternoon spent making Christmas ornaments. They are great for gifts or hanging on your own festive tree. Transform bland popsicle sticks into a variety of winter characters such as a reindeer, nutcracker, and penguin. Better Homes and Gardens has a great tutorial for making these whimsical stick ornaments, and it is available here. For all the popsicle sticks and decorations you will need for this craft, head on out to Dollar Tree on Plains Road East.
